Emperor Turnaround

Once I picked the Emperor style I wanted to go with I did this turnaround with blown up details for hands, feet, and head shape. This is just the linework, I'll probably throw him in Painter shortly.

3.5 hr Plein Air

Went to Playa Del Rey to do a little plein air painting.

Tips would be great! What do you guys usually bring when you go out? Do you bring a medium? Whats a good surface for quick sketches?

Emperor Facial Expression

I picked an emperor!
Here's the original sketch, him in his underwear, and a couple facial expressions. These were fun!

The Drawing Club

Went to the Drawing Club which had great scenery, model, and refreshments.
5-15 min poses. The little Moleskine addition were sketches I made in between poses.

Emperor Shape Studies

Here's a little shape study for the emperor I knocked out this morning Before heading out.


























These pages were done at the Skirball Cultural Museum, which I didn't realize was very Jewish. Really great stuff! I enjoyed the imagery in their history/artifacts more than the comic exhibit.

Went through the 100 silhouettes and found the 4 most abstract for further Character exploration.

Natural History Museum LA

Natural History Museum day trip. Every 1st Tuesday of the month entry is free ($8 parking)
Took 704 pictures. Then knocked out some sketches.












Highlights, I got to see a Bronze by Frederic Remington called "The Mountain Man" and a Caretta (the wagon I drew)
