Drawing Club: Magician

Our model for the night was Mark Wenzel.

DON'T FORGET today is the 26th Worldwide Sketchcrawl. Get out of the house and draw!

Los Angeles Group
Location: Central Library hours 10-6pm (630 W 5th St)
Meet on the 2nd Floor rotunda at 10:30

I have class today so I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it.

Also on the docket, tonight is the "Curiouser & Curiouser" show at Gallery Nucleus from 7-11pm. It looks like it's shaping into an amazing show. There will be concept art and Maquettes featured from the production of Tim Burton's up incoming release of "Alice in Wonderland," as well as some fun Wonderland inspired pieces. See you there :]

Drawing Club: 80s Aerobic Instructor

Our model tonight was Stacey Jack, she did a great job!

Sketch Club: Lunch Date

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been super busy. Kind of overwhelmed. Anyway this is the mark from this past week at Sketch Club.

The pose didn't come out exactly how I envisioned, probably should have taken a quick picture but I wanted to just knock it out pretty quick and get to the mound of other work I have. I did do some experimenting though with using a different brush and playing with the line color.

Sketch Club + Shelf sketch

Book shelves; sketch assignment from a communal blog I'm part of with a couple of my friends, we're trying to get it started back up again.

Drawing Club: Lara Croft Tomb Raider

 Malo as Tomb Raider

Used some more new toys from Swain's last night. Basically my Pocket Pentel Brush Pen wasn't enjoying the surface of my newsprint pad so I switched to a Prismacolor brush tip marker for line, a gray Pentel Color Brush for cloth, and followed up with watercolor for skin.

To my surprise the newsprint took the watercolor pretty well, I had to use a buffer piece of paper between pages though to keep from soaking through.
